J’ador L’or is my New favorite. I don’t know if you have reviewed it yet but you should!
@mebirdo I never had the opportunity to try Fidji. And now, tears because it’s too late.
I’m having a little nostalgic flirtation with Eden at the moment, which feels very cosy for cold weather.
I’m really looking for a parfum alternative to the delicious classic ‘Fidji’ though (Guy Laroche), which is now discontinued *cry*
@Westwoodboy1 Haven’t tried Weekend, but I do very much enjoy Allure Homme Edition Blanche: it’s soft, fresh, subtle and kinda sexy.
Great review, I’d love to know what you think of Chanel Allure Homme edition Blanche and Burberry Weekend for men. Two of my favorites!
@Randamaye Not for you, eh?
Lolita Lempicka, I smelled it today…..O_O *shudder*
@KatiePuckrikSmells Thanks a lot and i love how you always reply to everyone! Take care x
@XXXkisssssXXX Keep fragrances away from heat/light/humidity, and they’ll last for years – up to ten for some, if not more. Otherwise, they’ll turn/lose power, even smell rancid/sour after 2 years.
@KatiePuckrikSmells and btw how long should someone keep their perfumes before they “go bad”, and do perfumes go bad?
@xyltk I like the Chanel and the Hermès – the former is heavier/cozier, and the latter is more transparent and versatile.
Hi Katie! I’m thinking about getting a new fragrance for my fall/winter collection, but I’m having a hard time deciding. I like Chanel – Egoiste, but I’m considering Givenchy – Very Irresistible for Men and Hermès – Terre d’Hermès parfum as well, would you recommend these?
@inf0isFree It’s a smokily-charred vetiver-fest. Great, if that’s your bag.
Great reviews thanks! I love the original Égoiste as well! I remember owning and wearing it regularly. On another note (pun intended), I wonder what your take is on Encre Noire for men? Thanks
What do you think of L de Lolita Lempicka? I’m thinking I like it more that Lolita Lempicka. That cinnamon and vanilla really do it for me.
@XXXkisssssXXX It’s invisible, but still has such a presence!
I love how you said perfume is invisible, no body thinks of it as that though!
@originaldeftom Heh, “Lady Katie”. The word on the street is that Egoiste was based on/inspired by Bois des Iles.
Katie, I love your reviews and I think you should be knighted for it by our British Queen, lol. Ahhh… Egoiste, such an underrated CHANEL Classic. I think of it as a spiced, aromatic plum compote, that you make yourself at home on the stove with plenty of clover (carnation), cinnamon, bergamotte, and that purple-ness deep plum component that I cannot get enough of. Hard to find these days but I also love the even more sophisticated “Bois des Iles” (which is sinfully expensive)
@Dtrain518 That’s a great sneaky little tip. As long as the 2 fragrances are more or less in the same family or somehow compatible, it works.
Hi Katie,
I am so impressed with your video & I want to highlight a point you mentioned that I’ve practiced though never heard….until now. I wear men’s cologne with a hint of my wife’s PERFUME! I get numerous compliments but never…ever tell what I am wearing.
There is no question, you love and have a full appreciation for scent, aroma and smell…Thanks
-Dtrain518
I know that it’s not fall but I’m thinking about Chanel Allure… Can you please please pretty pretty please s’il te plaît do a review on that one, dear Katie?
i just watched this review, i am glad you reviewed it..was searching for something new,maybe i will just stay with egoiste.. it is a wonderful fragrance.. i did not realize it was that old.. i like that. something that maintains it’s integrity over the years…
@KatiePuckrikSmells Thanks. So I tried Lolita Lempicka and I realize that it smells like when you blow up a floaty for the pool and it even gives me that same headache to boot. Some note in that perfume just doesn’t sit well with me. I guess it’s just misunderstood.
@TheStyleNurse Orange-vanilla L is different to Lolita Lempicka, which is licorice/vanilla/violet. For an amazing orange-vanilla perfume, try Givenchy Organza Indecence. I think you’ll love that. Also investigate Britney Spears Hidden Fantasy.
